Cemetery Chapel Fund

As early as the late 1960's, a handful of concerned citizens started a project to build a chapel at the Marlette Cemetery.

They felt that a permanent shelter to help keep people out of the elements while they were saying "goodbye" to their loved ones was an important part of any funeral service.

In the early 1990's, the Marlette Ladies Pinochle Club decided it was time to resurrect this worthy project.

After much discussion the committee decided to hire an architect to suggest a basic, economical design. The architech informed the group that they need a minimum of $85,000.00 to get the building erected. The chapel will be constructed of cement blocks. It will also contain a furnace room and a unisex handicapped accessible bathroom, that will be completed at a later date.

The Cemetery Chapel is currently working with local contractors at this time in the
early stages of construction but there is still a need for donations to complete the inside of the chapel. It would be greatly appreciated if you could make a tax deductible donation to this worthy project.  If you are interested in making a donation please make your check payable to the Marlette Cemetery Chapel and mail it to City Hall 6436 Morris Street, Marlette, Mi 48453.

Thank you for your support.
