    Safe Routes to Schools Surveys

The City of Marlette is working with Marlette Schools and Our Savior Lutheran Schools to assess the safety and accessibility of the routes students take to and from school. The assessment is part of the national Safe Routes to Schools program, which provides funding to make infrastructure and safety improvements to improve and encourage walking and biking to school. If you are a parent of a student at any of these schools, please take time to complete a quick survey. Please click the link for the school your student attends:

    Carpenter Street Extension Project

The City of Marlette recently awarded a contract to connect the two sides of Carpenter Street.  The contractor will be placing a culvert in the ditch that currently separates the two streets, backfilling the area around the culvert, and placing concrete headwalls on either end of the culvert.  This work will result in a road base that will open Carpenter Street to traffic flow from Lamotte Street to Lorraine Street.

Work began the last week in October and is expected to wrap up by late-November, weather permitting. Initially, the new road will be made of asphalt millings similar to what was placed on the west side of Carpenter Street in late 2015.  Eventually the entire stretch will be paved, subject to availability of funds in the City’s road budget.

Since the area is not currently open to traffic, no traffic delays are expected.  You may experience some noise from heavy equipment during construction.  Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to complete this improvement project.
