    Job Opening – Public Works Laborer
    The City of Marlette is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Department of Public Works Laborer. Qualified applicants for this skilled position will participate in a full range of construction, maintenance and repair activities associated with municipal infrastructure, including streets, curbs, sidewalks, traffic control and related signage, parking lots, parks, buildings, grounds, leaf pick-up program, water and sewer systems, special events and seasonal activities, and equipment and related functional areas. Position is expected to positively respond to customer requests and emergencies and any other duties assigned by management. Ability to operate equipment such as backhoe, dump truck, and mowing equipment is preferred. 

    The positions pays $14.00/hour, or $15.00/hour with an S-3 license, and a fringe benefits package is provided.  Applicant must also possess a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement and an S-3 water distribution license, or ability to obtain and maintain licenses and endorsement within one year of hire date.

    City of Marlette Summer Tax Bills will be mailed out by Thursday, June 30, 2016. 2016 Summer Tax Bills are due Wednesday, August 31, 2016 without penalty. The deadline to file a Principal Residence Exemption Affidavit for the Summer taxes is Wednesday, June 1, 2016.
